They’re as different as diamonds and donuts, so can Brianna and Tiny build a future together? The third book in the Prairie Pastor series takes the reader back to the beloved community of Cottonwood Creek for a humorous and inspiring story.

Brianna’s beauty and her mother’s expectations have caused her plenty of problems. Now, she’s fleeing city life to run a B&B in rural North Dakota, and she’s drawn to Tiny, who is so unlike other men. Tiny has overcome a difficult youth with the help of God and the good people of Cottonwood Creek. Now, he takes care of his deeply disturbed mother and manages the local co-op. While he dreams of a life with Brianna, he thinks she’s way out of his league.

Can they find the way to the promising future God has for them? Not if their meddling mothers have anything to say about it. And not unless they come to terms with their differences.

Come and Spend Some Time at Cottonwood Creek!

Cottonwood Cover

The fictional community of Cottonwood Creek is the setting for “By the Banks of Cottonwood Creek.” The story takes place in 2001 in north-central North Dakota. Kelly Jorgenson is the new young pastor in the rural community. Kelly wants to escape southern California and his memories following his twin brother’s tragic death as a teenager. He envisions a peaceful life on the prairie.

Readers will recognize the fields of sunflowers, the Peace Gardens, and the fun of swimming or fishing in a creek. Country churches like Cottonwood Church still dot the land, their steeples pointing skyward like prairie lighthouses.

Kelly is soon involved in the daily problems of the residents of Cottonwood Creek, including eccentric Kate Schulte and hostile Linda Jackson. His now long-distance relationship with his brother’s former girlfriend, Briana Davis, suffers. Meanwhile, he’s attracted to a mysterious woman he meets as she plays piano in the empty church. When the September 11 terrorist attacks trigger flashbacks of his brother’s death, Kelly’s faith is tested and he realizes he must help his parents who also struggle with grief.
